Sadly saying farewell

BIG apology!

Crop for Kids

Thank you!
This is a smaller result than the past two years, but that wasn't unexpected. We had heard from many people that they had given so heavily to the bushfire appeals that they couldn't afford to give much more - both in terms of donations and personal spending at the crop. We understand that, as we too have supported the bushfire appeals and know money only spreads so far. But that still equates to over $24,000 raised by scrapbookers for the Good Friday Appeal in only three years! That's an incredible effort. Well done everyone!
We also had a small drop in attendance, also mainly due to the many bushfire appeal crops that have been held. It's great to see so many people using their hobby (and their businesses) to benefit people in need.
We are always open to feedback, and would encourage you to email us on cropforkids@gmail.com with any comments or suggestions. If the crop is to be held again next year, I believe that we also need some new committee members with new ideas and fresh enthusiasm. If you think you'd like to be involved, please email us.

One week to go!
The committee spent the day today packing goodie bags and sorting out prizes. Between raffles and lucky envelopes alone there are about 150 prizes! That means there's enough prizes for everyone to win at least one.

Update
As for raffle prizes, we've got some great ones this year. But we'll keep them a secret until the day. It's not too late to get donations to us either. We can take donations up until March 29th. Whether you're a business or an individual you can donate items. Even if you can't give much, every bit helps and we can make up hampers with smaller items. Just email us at cropforkids@gmail.com and we'll tell you where you can send it. A big thank you to all our sponsors. You can see their names on the left. Please support them where ever possible.
Don't forget we'll be holding a scrapbooking Trash and Treasure at the crop as well. So pull out all those supplies you are never going to use and make some money on them whilst helping to raise even more money for the Royal Children's Hospital. All you need to do is to place the item/s in a clear plastic bag and decide on a price. Bring it to the Trash and Treasure table in the morning and fill out a label to attach to it. Then at the end of the day, you can go back and see if your item/s have sold (and several times through the day to pick up some bargains). 25% of the selling price will be automatically donated to Crop for Kids, and the remaining 75% will be paid to you, except for magazines where Crop for Kids will take 100% of the selling price. Unfortunately we can only accept magazines less than 12 months old this year. We already have a box full of older ones!
Tickets are selling fast, so if you're planning to come and haven't booked yet, do it today!

The Final Total!
We have finally got all our ingoing and outgoing money sorted out and have just deposited $12,000 to the Good Friday Appeal!
Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who participated in any way - all the business and individuals who donated products and cash, the shops who ran fundraising for us, our talented designers of products, classes and layouts, everyone who bought embellishments, participated in an online class, attended the crop, bought embellishments, helped us with publicity or just wished us well. And a very special thank you to the committee who brought it all together and made it possible.
We also wanted to let you know that we have heard from the hospital auxillary regarding the cards that were made during the crop and donated to them. They have passed on their gratitude and said that the cards were a huge hit and raised lots of money. Unfortunately they couldn't give us an exact figure, but thank you to everyone who made a card for sale. You can be sure that the money raised will be well spent.
Thank you to Scrapbook Avenue in Sale

THE BIG DAY!!! And we raised...
We have done a rough count of the money we raised, and we are pleased to announce that we have achieved over the set target.
We are all extremely pleased with the result. A big THANK YOU to all the SPONSORS (please see navigating panel on left), all the online class instructors, and EVERYONE who came to the event. Without your generous support, we wouldn't have made it.
And to our dedicated committee members and their supportive families, the event wouldn't have come this far. We will be posting the final figures again as soon as we have them.
