Scraptacular do it again, and planning for next year

Scraptacular have done it again! The support from this shop always overwhelms us. During their recent retreat they held a raffle raising $700, which they have donated to Crop for Kids to kick start our tally for next year. Thank you so much to Julie and the Scraptac girls who are some of our hugest supporters.

Planning is underway for next year! Pencil the 4th of April 2009 into your diaries and stay tuned for updates!

The Final Total!

Drumroll please....

We have finally got all our ingoing and outgoing money sorted out and have just deposited $12,000 to the Good Friday Appeal!

Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who participated in any way - all the business and individuals who donated products and cash, the shops who ran fundraising for us, our talented designers of products, classes and layouts, everyone who bought embellishments, participated in an online class, attended the crop, bought embellishments, helped us with publicity or just wished us well. And a very special thank you to the committee who brought it all together and made it possible.

We also wanted to let you know that we have heard from the hospital auxillary regarding the cards that were made during the crop and donated to them. They have passed on their gratitude and said that the cards were a huge hit and raised lots of money. Unfortunately they couldn't give us an exact figure, but thank you to everyone who made a card for sale. You can be sure that the money raised will be well spent.

Thank you to Scrapbook Avenue in Sale

A belated thank you to Scrapbook Avenue in Sale who held a crop in support of Crop for Kids and raised $1000! What a fantastic effort and very much appreciated.

THE BIG DAY!!! And we raised...

We had an awesome day at Crop For Kids on 15 March 2008. There were lots of games, raffles, shopping, and scrapbooking that happened on the day. We saw many ladies having a good time, chatting away, meeting new friends, eating and drinking. The committee members were exhausted at the end of the day, but we were really glad we did it. We have photos which we will be posting soon.

We have done a rough count of the money we raised, and we are pleased to announce that we have achieved over the set target.

WE RAISED OVER $11,000!!!!!

We are all extremely pleased with the result. A big THANK YOU to all the SPONSORS (please see navigating panel on left), all the online class instructors, and EVERYONE who came to the event. Without your generous support, we wouldn't have made it.

And to our dedicated committee members and their supportive families, the event wouldn't have come this far. We will be posting the final figures again as soon as we have them.

CROP FOR KIDS is very honoured to have Kim Archer and Carole Janson design 2 online classes for us, leading up to the actual event. This is one of Kim Archer's Workshop @ Home's new range of Shorts Quick & Easy Workshop classes. This one in particular, has been exclusively designed for Crop For Kids. The theme for this class is CELEBRATING CHILDHOOD!! Choose a photo from your own childhood or one which best sums up your children's childhood and let's create a fun single layout with loads of texture, fabric and ribbon strips.

There will be a LIVE chat room feature will also be activated for this class so anytime you head into the classroom you will be able to chat with other participants if you wish, if they are in the classroom at the same time. NOTE: The class is run as an instant workshop which means you can access the classroom to complete your project at a time convenient for you. You will have access to a downloadable PDF step by step handout as well as being able to view lots of photos and details about each step. And our Support Team will again provide plenty of variety in their own versions of this workshop.

Singapore Friends ....

We are very pleased to announce that Crop For Kids has been adopted by Scrappin Kids Care, a blog set up by a group of passionate scrapbooking mothers in Singapore.

Scrappin Kids Care adopts a Children's Charity every month. They will assist the adopted charities to raise funds for their projects. And for their first month, January, they have decided to adopt Crop For Kids! They purchased 60 sets of our embellishments to sell on their blog and at their crops. Take a look at their resident designers' Wati's and Liza's creations with our embellishments HERE!!

It is so amazing that friends from overseas are actually supporting our cause, making a difference in children's lives. Thank you, Wati and Liza! It is a wonderful gesture.
